About Dr. Daniel Black
Dr. Black was raised in Blackwell, Arkansas, and now teaches at Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia. Daniel earned his PhD in African American studies from Temple University. He is the author of Listen to the Lambs, They Tell Me of a Home, Twelve Gates to the City, and The Sacred Place, among other books.
Novelist and cultural critic Dr. Black offers a debut essay collection examining issues that range from police brutality to the role of queer representation in the Black church. Along the way, he celebrates the strength of Black Americans, and indeed anyone on the margins and the ongoing struggle for fairness and equality.
